Because of its work on Route 45, Valley Metro recently received United Way’s 2011 Community Campaign-Community Partner Award, which recognizes the outstanding efforts of local community organizations. We want to express our gratitude to United Way, and our many project partners who worked tirelessly to establish the new route: City of Los Fresnos, Los Fresnos Consolidated Independent School District, Cameron County, University of Texas - Brownsville, Texas State Technical College, Workforce Solutions - Cameron County, and the Harlingen-San Benito MPO. We are very proud of our efforts to increase bus service in Cameron County and will continue to work vigorously on behalf of our riders. Thank you!
